WORKSHOP A: GETTING STARTED WITH PREDICTIVE ANALYTICS
Workshop Leader: J. Bryan Bennett, MBA, CPA, LSSGB, Predictive Analytics Curriculum Subject Matter Expert & Adjunct Professor, NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY
Predictive healthcare analytics has the potential to help identify potential health risks, promote better health and deliver more accurate diagnosis and treatment plans. But implementing a system-wide healthcare predictive analytics program will make EHR implementation look like a walk in the park. There is little room to repeat past implementation mistakes. There are several technical, process and organizational challenges that must be overcome to be successful. The results will need to be delivered in real-time or near real-time at the point of patient contact. The shear potential volume of structured and unstructured data and the frequent loading and transformed will keep many CIOs awake at night.
This workshop will help healthcare organizations identify the five major challenges of implementing a healthcare predictive analytics program. It will provide them an outline of the first steps they should begin taking to make sure they are ready to deliver the right information to the right healthcare worker at the right time to aid in making the right decision or treatment.
