LEVERAGING BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE TO ACHIEVE STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

Andrew W. Proctor, MS, Senior Director of Business Intelligence, Medical Operations Division, CLEVELAND CLINIC

The use of data analytics and a strong relationship with an enterprise business intelligence team is crucial to compete in today’s health care environment. The Cleveland Clinic Health System has demonstrated how a performance-directed culture, enabled by an innovative EBI group, can significantly improve clinical and financial outcomes. CCHS operates 30 intensive care units with 570 beds and more than 31,000 admissions annually. Rapid access to data is necessary to optimize clinical, financial, and operational performance. The EBI Group has supported that level and speed of access via effective partnerships with clinical leaders, and has been vital to improving overall intensive care unit operations.
