Esther Sim is the Entity Information Officer of ambulatory practices Penn Medicine. Penn Medicine is one of the world's leading academic medical centers, dedicated to the related missions of medical education, biomedical research, and excellence in patient care. Penn Medicine consists of the Raymond and Ruth Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania (founded in 1765 as the nation's first medical school) and the University of Pennsylvania Health System, which together form a $5.3 billion enterprise. Penn Medicine provides services to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Pennsylvania Hospital, Chester County Hospital, Lancaster General Hospital and the health system network that serves the city of Philadelphia, the surrounding five county area and parts of southern New Jersey.
Esther is responsible for oversight of information technology activities for all ambulatory practices – approximately 1,800 physicians and 250 practice locations.
In her prior position she was the Director of Information Services at one of the largest Cardiovascular Practices in the Delaware Valley area. Expertise includes implementing a new practice management system, electronic medical records system, e-prescribing and quality measure reporting.
She has over 10 years' experience in the health care technology industry and holds a BS in Psychology from Ursinus College.
